YPM is made up of great volunteers. Under the leadership of the Executive Board, these committees help spread the word, register voters, raise money and more - without them we are nothing. If you’d like to dedicate time to helping the YPM movement, and joining in LA’s great political community, email us at the addresses listed below. 

Communications & PR Committee
YPM is here to spread the gospel that voting local is where it’s at. We do this through our smart, accessible, comprehensive voter guides, our literature and our monthly newsletters. We are always looking for great help - wordsmiths, publicity mavens, members of the media - who want to throw their talents our way.

The Communications & PR Committee meets monthly to go over the newsletter schedule, plan out voter guide preparation, prepare press releases, hammer down the YPM message and more. If you are interested in helping out, email us at Communications@goypm.org.

Events & Marketing Committee
“Party with purpose!” The Events Committee is responsible for throwing 3-5 voter/election awareness events per year, as well as 2-3 fundraising events. Whether the event is small or large, we’re dedicated to planning and executing fun, accessible, interactive happenings. Events have included DIY T-Shirt Screenprinting, concerts, pool parties, and hosting prestigious speakers such as Senator Russ Feingold. At our events, YPM registers voters, signs-up new members, educates on local issues and government, and grows the young progressive community. Oh, and we rock out.

If you are a social butterfly, party organizer extraordinaire, have connections around town and/or with sponsors, or are simply interested in helping, please email Events@goypm.org. We meet about once a month. And we make a mean balloon animal.

Finance & Fundraising Committee
YPM needs cash to help us run our events, publish our voter guides, maintain and produce our website and email outreach program, and spread the progressive movement on a national level. Our Finance Committee is made up of the folks who help bring in the ideas, and the dough. We are always looking for people who want to help fundraise, as well as those of you who have accounting and investment skills. The finance committee meets once a month, and will work alongside the YPM Executive Board. If you would like to join us, let us know at Finance@goypm.org.

Research & Policy Committee
Ever wonder what City Council does all day, or why there’s still no train from downtown to the Westside? The YPM Research and Policy Committee keep a check on legislation at the local and state level, examine the voting records of public officials ranging from the Mayor all the way to the Sheriff, and publish all of these goodies for you via the YPM website, email newsletters, and/or the voter guide.

If the pursuit of knowledge gets your juices flowing, please join us. No previous government expertise or policy experience required, though as a child you probably looked up to Sherlock Holmes. Or Inspector Gadget. Most work is done online and over the phone with the occasional in person meeting. Email us at Research@goypm.org.
