Primary Election Results

Yesterday was California’s State Primary and a lot went down.  Proposition 98, and its attempt to eradicate rent control, was smacked in the face and left by the wayside.  Proposition 99, however, was successful at restructuring prior eminent domain laws (which is okay by us).  Of course, there were also tons of races for people seeking office.

26th Democrat: Russ Warner
26th Republican: David Dreier

CA Senate
25th Democrat: Roderick Wright
23rd Democrat: Fran Pavley
23rd Republican: Rick Montaine

CA Assembly
39th Democrat: Felipe Fuentes
40th Democrat: Bob Blumenfield (sorry folks, we listed this as the 23rd District in our guide)
40th Republican: Armineh Chelebian
46th Democrat: John Perez
52nd Democrat: Isadore Hall

LA County Supervisor
2nd: Runoff between Mark Ridley-Thomas and Bernard Parks 

 Less than 130,000 people voted in the race for the 2nd District.  If Ridley-Thomas had received another 6,000 votes, he would have clinched the seat.  Instead, these two candidates will face off against each other in November.
